Volunteer
With Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry
The Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry has been serving our community for decades. Our mission is simple: to make sure no one in our community goes hungry. We can only do that with the help of caring volunteers like you.
Volunteering allows you to: make a tangible impact in the lives of your neighbors, meet new people and be part of a caring community, support a mission rooted in compassion and dignity, and put your values into action. Whether you have an hour a week or a few hours a month, your time makes a real difference for families in need.
Ways You Can Help
Pantry Shifts: Assist clients as they shop for groceries, restock shelves, and keep the pantry running smoothly.
Food Pick-Ups & Deliveries: Help transport food donations from local grocery stores, churches, and organizations.
Sorting & Stocking: Organize food items, check expiration dates, and prepare the pantry for clients.
Special Projects: Support food drives, fundraising efforts, or seasonal programs like holiday meal distributions or our annual Just One Can campaign.
Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome individuals, families, community groups, and students. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to work independently, though younger helpers are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
