What is JUST ONE CAN?

JUST ONE CAN is a town-wide food drive to collect 30,000 cans in support of the Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry.

As the number of families seeking assistance continues to grow, our food purchasing budget can no longer keep pace with demand. Reaching our goal of 30,000 cans would generate an estimated $50,000 in food value—the equivalent of four months of canned food purchases for the pantry.

One can truly makes a measurable difference.

Why 30,000 Cans?

The goal is simple and achievable.

If every resident of the Blacksburg donated just one can, we would meet or exceed our target. This campaign is built on the idea that small, individual acts multiplied across a community create substantial impact.

Where is a Collection Site?

Collection Sites are scattered throughout Blacksburg and on the Virginia Tech campus. You can drop off your donations there or at the Food Pantry.

When is JUST ONE CAN?

The food drive runs March 16 through March 31.

We are partnering with local faith communities, grocery stores, Virginia Tech locations, and area businesses to serve as collection sites and to help amplify the campaign throughout the community.

Together, we can ensure our neighbors have reliable access to nutritious food.
